SAKI Trauma Informed Interviewing for Sexual Assault Investigations


The Kentucky Office of the Attorney General and Office of Victim Advocacy is offering training on SAKI Trauma Informed Interviewing for Sexual Assault Investigations. This course is approved for 24 KLEC in-service credit hours.

The course is designed to enhance an officer's skills in interviewing sexual assault victims in a trauma-informed manner. The investigation of sexual assault cases can be hindered using interrogation methods that revictimize reporters of sexual assault. Students will be made aware of the best practices in sexual assault victim interviewing and will have the opportunity to practice interviewing victims in a trauma-informed way.

The course will be offered on the following dates and locations:
