The Bowling Green Police Department will host a Crisis Intervention Training course Feb. 16–20 at the department’s training center, located at 250 Porter Pike. The course will be instructed by members of Lifeskills and the Bowling Green Police Department. Participants will receive instruction on common mental health disorders, as well as techniques to de-escalate situations, conduct assessments, investigate incidents, and appropriately assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The training is led by law enforcement officers and mental health professionals who bring real-world experience to addressing critical incidents involving individuals in crisis.
